It seems like every week, a new cafe, bar or restaurant is popping up on your block in NYC. I try my best to visit as many places as possible, and earlier this August, I was lucky enough to photograph the grand opening of Project Cozy in Nolita. We got there later in the day, so the selection was pretty picked over, but we were lucky enough to snag one of their last cream puffs. Sourced by a local favorite, Bibble and Sip was decadent, and the perfect size to split between two people. They were selling their signature mint iced coffees two for one, so we each got to sip on our own, which was both refreshing, just sweet enough, and packed a nice caffeine kick.

The place is, of course, incredibly Instagrammable, with neon lights and large windows. If you aren't interested in the ~aesthetic~, still come here for the quality food and ample space to study and relax. Next time I swing by, I want to try their "Watermelon Drank" juice!

Sunset Picnics

The best part of summer in the city are the picnics! I got some croissants and chocolates from Empire Cake, plus some bubbly, Kelsey brought fresh cheeses and jam, and Camille brought crackers, cronuts and a blanket, and voila, we had the perfect spread! We enjoyed the night watching the sun set over the East River at Brooklyn Bridge Park. This was my first time in Dumbo, but I want to go back to both walk the bridge and explore the neighborhood!

My face? In Brooklyn?

I don't often leave Manhattan, and even less frequently allow people to take photos of me, but these are two things I resolve to do more often this summer. With a little time to kill before a screening of Dirty Dancing, I finally stepped out from behind the camera and let Henry take some photos of me.

Reproductive Riot

I hosted the most incredible event, Reproductive Riot, with NYU's Branch of Women and Youth Supporting Each Other last week. We had representatives from Planned Parenthood, Untabooed, Support the Girls, LiveWell NYU, The Kota Alliance, Bedsider, and NYU College Democrats.

Prague Castle

 

I don't think I've ever been so cold in my life (and that's coming from a Bostonian!) but our morning spent at the Prague castle was so beautiful.
